Seriously, it's been like three years since the start of the generation... by this time last gen we had all sorts of crazy PC stuff coming out that was ridiculously beyond the capabilities of consoles, but this gen we apparently only have Crysis. Either I haven't noticed a lot of in development PC games, or developers are starting to get lazy with the PC...
Consoles are slowing down the advancement of graphics in PC games. The reason is that many game developers want to tap into the console markets. So they are restrained by the Console's limitations to produce a game. This is largely thanks to the release of the original Xbox. Before the Xbox, many people didn't play console games. At least at my demographic, I didn't know anyone that played any console nor have an interest in it, other than little kids. The original Xbox, in my opinion, was the delta. It was the catalyst for change that brought awareness to a market of adult gamers.
